Legal aid means representation by us on your behalf, instructed by the Legal Aid Board in civil proceedings. These are usually access, guardianship, custody and domestic violence applications. Free legal aid is not granted automatically. If you require representation for a court case, the Legal Aid Board will consider your request on a case by case basis. If the Board considers that it is reasonable to grant legal aid, a legal aid certificate will be issued to you and you will have legal representation for your case.
You can find out more information about the services and contact details of the Board by visiting their website www.legalaidboard.ie
